How to Get the Best Price for Your Valuable Jewelry when Selling it

1-Gather your valuable jewelry you want to sell and bring it to several jewelers for an appraisal. This is important to determine the actual value for each piece.

2-Get a written estimate from each jeweler if possible in case you want to return to them to buy the piece.

3-Check out Internet websites, such as jewelers' sites and Internet auction sites, to see what similar pieces of jewelry are selling for. You might not be able to get the actual value for a piece or you may be able to get more than it's worth, depending on the market for that particular type of jewelry.
Go back to jewelers who gave you estimates for your valuable jewelry. Ask if they are willing to buy each piece, and sell the jewelry to those who offer the best deal.

4-Put your jewelry up for sale yourself. You can use Internet auction sites, like eBay.com, or you can take out ads on classifieds sites, like Craigslist.org. When selling yourself, be sure to use keywords related to each piece in your post. On Internet auction sites, there's often a place to insert certain keywords. For example, keywords might include the metal the jewelry is made out of, any stones found in the piece and the type of jewelry it is, such as a bracelet or necklace.
